Introduction

Matthew was hired by the firm in January, 1992, after working in the Office of Internal Affairs for the United States Justice Department for the previous two decades. He is headquartered at our midtown Manhattan location, which is located across the street from the Hotel Pennsylvania and adjacent to Madison Square Garden. Matthew specializes in complex business litigation, antitrust laws, environmental issues (gas, oil, natural resources), securities, and an array of White collar crime.

Education

Matthew earned his undergraduate degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Maryland in 1982. He received a master's of business administration from UM the follow year and enrolled in the law program at the University of Virginia in 1986 and completed his coursework with high honors in 1989.

Experience

Matthew has amassed more than 20 years of trial and appellate experience in every state up and down the Atlantic Coast of the United States. More than three dozen of his trials lasted more than two months. He has vast experience dealing with claims under both federal and state antitrust laws, securities and commodities laws, and allegations of criminal fraud. His areas of expertise range from RICO statutues to class action lawsuits against both gun and tobacco manufacturers.
